Ryan Beales, a 14-year-old freshman at Severna Park High School in Maryland, has died following a tragic collision while riding an electric motorcycle near the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail. His death has left classmates, teachers, and the wider community mourning the loss of a young life with so much still ahead of him.

The accident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, October 21, 2026, near the intersection of Robinson Road and Robinson Station Road. According to the preliminary investigation, Ryan was traveling south along the trail when he entered Robinson Road and struck the side of an eastbound Dodge Ram pickup truck. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital but died from his injuries the following evening.

News of Ryan’s passing has been especially painful for his school community. Severna Park High School Principal Nathan Johnson remembered him as a positive presence who approached his first year at the school with a good attitude.
